JUST WRITE :)

10 minutes a day writing routine activates your creativity and makes you feel good.

Developing a writing routine sounds pretty easy - investing a few minutes a day can't be that difficult, right? To be honest, I personally don't always succeed either, unfortunately. If you feel the same way, don't worry. With a few basic rules and tricks, you'll be back at it in no time and writing will be even more fun.

I recently read a few tips on writing routines from Doris Dörrie, German director and writer, which I'm happy to share with you. Here we go.

1. Write at least 10 minutes at a time. Especially in the beginning, you should approach your writing in a light-hearted way. The longer you write, the easier it will be.

2. Don't think too much. If you brood, you will get bogged down. The goal is to get into an uninhibited flow of writing. It does not have to be perfect in content or style!

3. Allow yourself to make mistakes. Self-control is poison to the free flow of thought. If you don't know how to write a word, write it the way it suits you.

If you run into your own limits with the basic rules, Dörrie recommends a few tricks. There are big and heavy topics, such as the loss of a loved one, where the words stop flowing. In such moments, you can consciously switch from the first to the third person. This creates a narrative distance that allows you to describe your feelings more easily and often more accurately.

Above all, you should write by hand. Oh yeah! That means taking your time and putting your heart and soul into it. You feel it especially when a thought or a feeling really grabs you. Your handwriting will beat out faster and more intensely like a calligraphic heart rate curve, as if there were a direct connection between your thoughts and your hand. Plus, the natural flow of thoughts isn't interrupted with distracting computer autocorrection. Do you agree?

And does writing make you happy, too? So what are we both waiting for!!! :)
